Dry Hydrant Inspection Service

  • Inspect the Dry Hydrant Site to ensure that the site is clear of obstructions, so the access to the area is available for emergency use.
  • All exposed piping shall be inspected for cracks and degradation of material, photographic documentation of the condition shall be provided annually for all exposed pipe.
  • All fittings shall be inspected for damaged threads and that the proper caps are in place. All caps shall be removed and put back on to check for proper operation. A light amount of white grease shall be installed on all threaded areas to facilitate future removal.
  • An underwater inspection of the pipe and strainers and the amount of material around the strainers shall be documented.

Dry Hydrant Maintenance 

  • Removal of mud, silt, debris and plant life from the strainer area.  The use of hydraulic dredging is the best method to remove such material
  • Strainer Refurb.   We clean / brush out all the holes on the strainer.
